keytech as Guest at the Los Angeles Convention Center – SOLIDWORKS WORLD 2017

Between February 5th and 8th, more than 5,000 SOLIDWORKS users traveled to California to view the latest news, tips and tricks from SolidWorks in the general sessions, as well as in countless workshops and hands-on sessions. Like every year, SOLIDWORKS WORLD, the trade show hosted by the Dassault Group 3D software company, also offered partners the opportunity to present innovative solutions that optimally complement SOLIDWORKS. keytech Software GmbH from Recklinghausen, a longtime SOLIDWORKS Gold Partner, and a provider of PLM and DMS software solutions from the Ruhr area was also there.

SOLIDWORKS WORLD 2017 was once again clearly marked by innovations. In a press release the CEO of SolidWorks Gian Paolo Bassi already announced that SOLIDWORKS WORLD "... will be the place for innovators to get together, to learn new skills and to change the way in which products are developed [...]." Innovative topics were at the center of the four-day show in sunny California. In addition to "Additive and Subtractive Manufacturing", “The Internet of Things" and "Model Based Design" were the focus of the event.

This year, the who’s who of SolidWorks partners was again represented in the partner pavilion of the trade show and they took the opportunity to present innovative products from their own companies. On stand 313 with keytech SolidWorks had one of their original German partners. "We were very pleased with the invitation from SolidWorks, as we are every year," said Peter Emde, Vice President North America and head of the project department at keytech Software GmbH. "We have been working closely with SOLIDWORKS users from all over the world for over 20 years to improve our SOLIDWORKS integration."

“The SOLIDWORKS integration has been an integral part of keytech's product portfolio since 1997 and facilitates the day-to-day management of SOLIDWORKS documents and the control of processes in product development,” explains Emde. The German solution provider would not miss the opportunity to connect with more than 5,000 users and many partners from countries around the world.

keytech also had innovative solutions, which were presented to a wide audience in Los Angeles. Two keytech products were presented this year for the first time at SOLIDWORKS WORLD: The keytech web api and the brand new keytech explorer for Windows 10 tablets. With the web api, keytech introduced the company's web services programming interface. "In the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0, the horizontal integration of various systems will be a central challenge," explains Frank Schlupp, CEO of keytech Süd GmbH from Baden-Württemberg. "keytech web api offers our customers a simple, flexible and future-proof solution to address this task."

keytech explorer, the second product that premiered at SOLIDWORKS WORLD this year, is using this innovative technology to access data from the company's PLM and DMS system. "The company has been talking about using mobile devices for an eternity," Frank Schlupp explains. "Except for emails and the calendar, however, there was not much progress for a long time, as the company's central IT systems often have not offered suitable solutions. With keytech explorer we want to change that! "

After four inspiring days at SOLIDWORKS WORLD, many good discussions and interesting meetings, the keytech team traveled back to Germany. "SOLIDWORKS WORLD is always a great experience for us. Again we met many great people," Peter Emde concludes.
