Technical Consultant / Boston Area
Job Description:
- Sales presentations that include intimate knowledge of our company, culture and products
- Technical presentations to customers and detailed system design
- Project management and project controlling
- Gathering and analyzing business and customers requirements
- Participate in managing and developing customer and partner relationships for long-term success
- Organizing and supporting user acceptance testing
- Implementing our solutions
- Interact with project manager and lead consultant to coordinate project plans
- Develop support materials (work instructions, procedures, quick reference guides, screen cams)
Reporting / Collaboration:
Reporting to: VP Sales and CEO
Collaboration with: Customer Service / Help Desk, Project Managers, technical Consultants
Skills Required:
- Minimum of 5 years experience working with PLM/ERP concepts and technologies
- Minimum of 5 years experience in implementing, supporting or developing PLM/Workflow/ERP/DMS solutions
- Strong working knowledge of at least one CAD-System (SolidWorks, SpaceClaim, Solid Edge, CATIA, EPLAN)
- Strong knowledge of the MCAD / CAE industry
- Relevant experience as a consultant in a leading IT organization or as a core team member in a large implementation project
- Technical consultants are expected to have a broad knowledge of current technology and to be excellent written and verbal communicators
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Technology or 6 years equivalent work experience
- Operating experience with MS-SQL-Server and/or Oracle highly recommended
- VB.NET programming experience preferred
- Class room training experience (desired)
Professional Skills Requirements:
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation and documentation skills
- Good organizational management skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as contributing as a team player
- Ability to translate customers needs into software modules and customization solutions
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
- May require some after-hours on-call support
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to communicate with various levels of management on a business and technical level including the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
